MISSIONS

At Wesley UMC, we are committed to embodying Christ’s love through acts of service and compassion both locally and internationally. Our local missions focus on meeting the needs of our community by addressing hunger and homelessness. Our international missions partners with Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child to fill and distribute shoeboxes to children around the world and through our Cuban Ministry we send medicines and supplies to our sister churches in Duranona and Media Luna, Cuba. Together, we work to make a lasting impact, transforming lives and spreading hope. Join us in being the hands and feet of Christ in the world!

LOCAL MISSIONS

^Pack-A-Sack

Collects and distributes food packages to low-income students on Friday afternoons during the school year. Currently serving Dickensen and Town 'n Country Elementaries and Webb Middle School.

^{Homeless Ministry}

Our homeless ministry provides food, clothing, toiletries on Sunday mornings at 7:00 to the homeless or those at risk of homelessness in the area. There is also an opportunity for a clean shower on Saturday mornings

^{Bridges Preschool}

Our popular preschool has been a leader in Early Learning Education since 1989 and serves as a bridge for students going from preschool into elementary school.

_{Cornerstone Wonder Walk}

Wesley is a major participant in the annual Cornerstone Wonder Walk to raise money for scholarships for disadvantaged students to attend the Rosa Valdez Early Learning Center. Many Wesley members donate or collect pledges for a walk-a-thon along Bayshore Boulevard in the spring.

^{Hope Ministry}

The Hillsborough Organization for Progess and Equality is a community advocacy group consisting of faith-based congregations that seeks social justice for the poor, vulnerable and oppressed by holding local officials accountable for their decisions and actions. HOPE team members pledge to attend and promote 4 community wide events to build our people power and make positive impacts in

Hillsborough County.

^{KAYE PROX FOOD BANK}

We collect non-perishable foods at the church and deliver once a month to the Kaye Prox Food Bank distribution center located at the Lutheran Church of our Savior.

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS

Every year, Wesley UMC partners with Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child to fill shoeboxes with toys, essential items, accessories and WOW gifts for children in hardest-to-reach places around the world.

_{Jamaica Hurricane Missions}

In the wake of Hurricane Mellisa, many communities across Jamaica are still rebuilding long after the headlines have moved on. Through Wesley Memorial UMC’s Jamaica Hurricane Relief effort, we are providing food and essential supplies, supporting local farmers with seeds to restore lost crops, and working to help repair damaged schools and community spaces. Our focus is both immediate relief and long-term recovery—walking with families and communities toward stability, dignity, and renewed hope.
