Week 3: A Call to Repentance – Bearing Fruit in Our Lives

The point of using dummy text for your paragraph is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters. making it look like readable English.

Repentance is often misunderstood as a shame-filled response to guilt. But in Scripture, it is a gracious invitation—a holy turning. God’s voice in Isaiah 55 says, “Come, everyone who thirsts,” inviting us to leave behind what does not satisfy and receive what is good, lasting, and life-giving. Jesus, in the parable of the fig tree (Luke 13), does not condemn but offers more time for growth and fruitfulness. Repentance, then, is God’s mercy in action—a patient gardener giving us space to flourish.

📖 Scripture Readings:

  • Isaiah 55:1-9
  • Psalm 63:1-8
  • 1 Corinthians 10:1-13
  • Luke 13:1-9

🔎 Focus:

God’s invitation to repentance is not about fear but about turning toward abundant life.

🛤 Reflection Questions:

  • What does true repentance look like in our daily lives?
  • How is repentance connected to bearing fruit for God’s kingdom?
  • Where is God calling you to turn back to divine grace?

🛠 Practice for the Week:

Take a moment to reflect:

Where in your life do you sense God asking you to grow or change? What part of your spiritual life feels barren or fruitless?

This week’s challenge:

Identify one area where you need to “bear more fruit.”

Write it down. Pray over it.

Then take one tangible step toward change—whether it’s offering forgiveness, spending intentional time in prayer, practicing generosity, or seeking reconciliation.

🙏 Prayer for Trusting God’s Faithfulness in the Wilderness

Gracious God, thank you for your invitation to abundant life.

Help us not to fear repentance but to embrace it as the doorway to your grace.

Cultivate in us hearts that are open, lives that bear fruit, and spirits that long for you.

Give us the courage to take a step toward change this week.

In Christ’s name, Amen..

Amen.
